You can get volumes 1 and 2 from your friendly local comic shop, or from Slave Labor, or straight from the Heart Shaped Store. Volume 2 has some of the “Ask Vicious” pages in the back too.
Reviewing local geography: “Blind Creator Bay.” “Soiled Heart Road.” “Affliction Street.” “Regrettable Avenue.” “Desperate Agony Beach.” “Crucible Cove.” “The Doldrums.” “Inconsolable Wood”. And of course the town name is “Crestfallen.”
It’s like the people who named stuff were specifically trying to defeat the impulse that drives city planners to give places bland, pleasant names. I like that.
While reading the most resent comic page posted about how stable some magics are in Crestfallen. It got me thinking of John Harrison, the guy who invented the first clock accurate enough to calculate longitude – really important in the days before GPS! One of his many nifty innovations was to use more than one type of metal rod for a clocks pendulum (one copper and one brass and etc.) rather than the customary one. The different rates these metals expanded in changing temperatures made the clock more accurate despite weather changes.
I wonder if a similar concept works with magic: if several witches working together add stability to a spell so it can keep working much longer than one witch could do on their own.
I love how you can tell V’s dialogue from everyone else’s by the way the font is written. Her’s looks similar to Serenity’s, without the dark bubble… I suppose that’s, like, witch font to set them apart.
Question: is there anywhere i can buy all your comics in a pack(s)?
A hard copy print i mean.
