i didn’t realize how much pre-photoshop time you put into these pages aaron, until i saw the one for this in the shop- everyone has their balance, i suppose- do you use a marker or just pencil all that black in before you scan it? i own one of your pages from vol. 1, and it’s all pencil- but it seemed back then you would do more fill-in with the computer. anyway, i love your evolving style. it just gets better and more unique all the time…
I love the panel with the Dancing Picture. That’s always awesome to see. If only there was toy like that…
Anyways, once again an amazing page by the great Aaron A. And I can’t wait to see another next week (it’s coming out two days before my birthday! AWESOME!)
i didn’t even recognize the painting as the dancing one at first, it reminded me more of the bad maddy… could this be intentional?
ok, now i looked at it again… & i’m pretty sure Sera’s staring transfixed at the painting, not merrick. my gut says she noticed the same resemblance i saw, and is probably terrified that merrick or lois will turn around. Aaron be subtle.
Oh my god… I love your use of small panels at the end of this page. Your panel structure is always interesting, but this time, man oh man. Especially after the giant face shot of her horror on the previous page, having her here so tiny, squished into a narrow corner… so awfully appropriate. Poor Sera. *wants to hug*
All the emotion on her face in this sequence makes Merrick’s goggles all the more irritating. I hope we’ll eventually get to see his eyes/lack thereof.
And like everyone, I like dancing paint man’s take on the situation (: … while we’re on the subject of semi-sentient conjuring…..
in sorta response to what some other people have been saying about this page:
i dont think sera’s face is as a result of her painting. rather, i think the painting is reacting from sera’s subconscious. sera has just been shown something horrible which she may have responsible for. merrick, an annoying, and kind of rude-ish fellow has just shoved this footage in her face. she wants merrick to go away therefore the painting it acting aggressively towards him. sera herself is cowaring because she is still in shock over the horrific footage.
well, that’s what i think anyway. i could be totally wrong. have to see what’s coming up to knwo for sure, of course. ^^
also, yeah, panel 1 is totally wicked
The Dancing picture does NOT like Merrik.
Dancing Picture is gonna kill somebody….
I love how Merrik and the cop lady(her name escapes me at the moment…)notices it, though. 😛
Is she looking in fear at the dancing picture, or the coppers?
However, I love how the painting looks like it’s trying to eat Merrick. Good paint stuffs 🙂

I can’t tell if she’s horrified by what she’s just been told, or by the painting taking on an un-Sera-like look behind Merrick.
